Don teaches a six-week, non-credited class at Sierra College in Grass Valley, California called "Exploring the Night Sky."
Fall 2014 classes will be held on Thursdays beginning September 18 through October 23 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Each class consists of about an hour of lecture and discussion held in a classroom, and an hour of visual astronomical observation at the facility's observatory. We use a C-11 and several C-8 telescopes and a couple of 6" and 8" reflectors. We will also be using binoculars and the unaided eye.
This class is open to anyone wanting to learn more about astronomy. We will study the solar system, stars, clusters, galaxies, constellations and the motions of objects in the sky. The cost is about $89 for the course, payable to the Sierra College Continuing Education department. Visit their website at www.sccommed.org.
